Château de Crémat

Château de Crémat stands on a hill in Nice, within the Bellet wine appellation. Its medieval-style façade combines a prominent tower, machicolations, and rococo decoration. From the estate, panoramic views extend across the surrounding landscape.

Antoine Mari built the château in 1906 on foundations linked to Roman cultivation of olives and vines. Ancient underground galleries now serve as cellars. In 1923, Irène Bretz commissioned Dalmas renovations while preserving the building’s distinctive tower. She welcomed prominent guests, including Coco Chanel, to the estate. In 2001, Cornelis Kamerbeek pursued restoration of the estate’s historical twenty-five-hectare size.

Vineyards produce white wines from rolle and chardonnay, alongside reds based on folle noire and grenache. Rolle is also known as vermentino in Italy. Folle noire contributes deep aromas and silky tannins, while grenache brings richness and aromatic complexity. The estate also hosts wine tastings, receptions, seminars, and meetings.
