Es Castell

Es Castell is an eleventh-century farmhouse hotel in the countryside near Palma, surrounded by the Tramuntana mountains. Its exposed stone walls and wooden beams preserve a traditional Majorcan character. The fifteenth-century layout still guides the rooms, doors, and window frames you see while walking inside.

Whitewashed walls, antique furniture, modern pieces, and artwork create a simple, comfortable interior. An old olive press bears the smooth surface of centuries of use. About 300 hectares of working farmland surround gardens, ancient vines, olive trees, and open views. Vegetables, salad, lamb, and olive oil reach the table from the farm. Twelve rooms combine historic details with air conditioning, high-pressure showers, Wi-Fi, and safes.

A swimming pool sits among the gardens, while a rooftop terrace opens towards the countryside and mountains. Marked mountain trails lead into the nearby landscape. Board games, DVDs, a library, bicycles, and an honesty bar add quieter options indoors. From the gardens, you can hear sheep and crickets across the Pollensa plain.
