Carolus-Brunnen
O Carolus-Brunnen fica em Wendelsplatz, no bairro de Sachsenhausen, em Frankfurt, na Alemanha. A escultura artística representa o imperador Carlos Magno.
Foi criada pelo artista Fritz Boehle, que atuou como pintor, desenhista e escultor na Alemanha. Fritz Boehle nasceu em Emmendingen, no ano de 1873.
Originalmente, o projeto previa uma fonte monumental para adornar a nova ponte do Main, em 1928. Esse projeto, porém, nunca saiu do papel como planejado.
A estátua permaneceu como modelo de plastilina até a fundição em ferro encomendada pela Binding-Brauerei, em 1965. Depois, encontrou seu lugar atual em Wendelsplatz, em 1976.
A fonte não tem água, e seu tanque recebeu terra para o crescimento de plantas. A obra também apareceu no rótulo da cerveja forte Carolus.
O local integra a categoria de arte e é acessível para cadeirantes. Boehle estudou no Städelsches Kunstinstitut, em Frankfurt, e recebeu influência das obras de Albrecht Dürer.
Sua formação incluiu desenho e pintura de pessoas, animais e cavalos. Sachsenhausen também abriga o Boehlepark e uma rua com o nome do artista.
