Carolus-Brunnen
El Carolus-Brunnen se encuentra en Wendelsplatz, dentro del barrio Sachsenhausen de Frankfurt, y presenta una figura de Carlomagno. La obra pertenece a la categoría artística del lugar.
Fritz Boehle creó la escultura y trabajó como pintor, dibujante y escultor alemán vinculado a Frankfurt. Boehle estudió arte en el Städelsches Kunstinstitut de Frankfurt. El monumento se concibió primero como fuente para el nuevo puente del Main, en contraste con otra estatua ecuestre imperial. Aquel proyecto de puente no llegó a realizarse. La estatua permaneció como modelo de plastilina hasta que la Binding-Brauerei la fundió en hierro y la instaló en Sachsenhausen. Después, la obra llegó finalmente a Wendelsplatz.
La fuente ya no vierte agua, mientras su pilón contiene tierra y permite crecer a las plantas. El sitio dispone de acceso para sillas de ruedas. El nombre de la figura también identificó la etiqueta de la cerveza fuerte Carolus de la Binding-Brauerei. La escultura conserva un vínculo visible con la historia artística local.
