Carolus-Brunnen
Carolus-Brunnen stojí ve Frankfurtu na Wendelsplatzu, v městské čtvrti Sachsenhausen. Tato veřejná socha zobrazuje Karla Velikého.
Vytvořil ji frankfurtský malíř, kreslíř a sochař Fritz Boehle. Jeho tradiční styl čerpá ze zájmu o lidi, zvířata a koně.
Dílo mělo původně zdobit nový most přes Mohan, ale tento záměr se neuskutečnil. Po původním návrhu zůstal pouze plastilinový model.
Binding-Brauerei nechala sochu odlít do železa a umístila ji před svou správní budovu v Sachsenhausenu. Později se Carolus-Brunnen přesunul na Wendelsplatz.
Kašna už vodu nevede, její nádrž však vyplňuje zemina a rostou v ní rostliny. Jméno sochy se objevilo také na etiketě silného piva Carolus od Binding-Brauerei.
Boehle studoval ve frankfurtském Städelsches Kunstinstitut, kde jeho tvorbu ovlivnila díla Albrechta Dürera. Jeho působení připomíná také Boehlepark a ulice pojmenovaná po něm v Sachsenhausenu.
Carolus-Brunnen zároveň nabízí bezbariérový přístup a konkrétní pohled na frankfurtské veřejné umění.
