Bayerischer Bahnhof

Bayerischer Bahnhof stands in Leipzig as a former railway terminus, now combining historic architecture, a brewery, restaurant, and beer garden. Railway travellers first arrived at this terminus in Leipzig in 1842.

A careful transformation in 2000 brought restaurant, brewery, and event spaces into the former station. The Säulenhalle serves as a reception hall, with a nostalgic railway carriage available for dining. Schalander offers traditional dishes and seasonal accents, while the Gosestube recalls old Leipzig taverns with a tiled stove and large tables. Glass-fronted Arkaden overlook the beer garden, creating a winter-garden setting for meals and gatherings.

Plane trees shade the beer garden, where freshly tapped beer accompanies classic outdoor dishes. Inside the Biersiederei, copper kettles support the brewing of house beers, including traditional Leipzig Gose. A glass wall reveals the malt mill and gives you a view into the brewing process. Beer seminars, music evenings, culinary celebrations, and guided tours bring the railway history into the present. Wheelchair access makes this historic setting easier to share.
