Can Cabrer
Can Cabrer is a gourmet food shop in Artà, Mallorca, where local flavours fill a family business founded in 1916. Three generations carried the shop forward, from Jaume to Jordi and then Josep, who took over in 1972. Since 2013, the shelves have focused mainly on products from Mallorca and nearby villages. You find hand-harvested sea salt, flor de sal des Trenc, among the shop’s distinctive specialities.
Traditional island foods include sobrasada, botifarrón, camaiot and ensaimada, alongside gourmet coffees and other delicacies. Irene and Jordi helped modernise the business, while Pilar and Enric are preparing to continue its work. Online distribution now complements the physical shop, connecting Mallorcan produce with customers beyond the island. Maria, Josep’s wife, remains closely associated with the shop as its spirit.
