Ponte di Rialto
Ponte di Rialto shtrihet mbi Canal Grande në Venecia, në pikën më të ngushtë të kësaj rruge ujore. Ura lidh zonat San Marco dhe San Polo, duke bashkuar qendrën politike me zemrën tregtare të qytetit. Dy rampat e mbuluara ngjiten drejt një portiku qendror, ndërsa dyqanet rreshtohen përgjatë të dyja anëve. Nga lart shikon kanalin në të dy drejtimet dhe varkat kalojnë poshtë harkut prej guri.
Në këtë vend qëndroi fillimisht një urë pontonësh, e ndërtuar rreth vitit 1173 dhe e quajtur Ponte della Moneta. Ura prej druri zëvendësoi strukturën e hershme në vitin 1255, por zjarri dhe shembjet e përsëritura kërkuan një zgjidhje më të qëndrueshme. Antonio da Ponte projektoi urën e sotme me një hark të vetëm, e ndërtuar nga viti 1588 deri më 1591. Mijëra shtylla druri mbajnë themelet në tokën e butë aluviale, një zgjidhje inxhinierike që vazhdon të tërheqë vëmendje. Herët, qiratë e dyqaneve ndihmonin mirëmbajtjen, ndërsa kalimi lidhte tregun Rialto me San Marco. Shekuj me radhë, ky ishte kalimi i vetëm i përhershëm mbi Canal Grande.
