Max Fuld

Max Fuld is a Stolperstein in Stuttgart, set into the pavement as a memorial to victims of National Socialism. A ten-centimetre concrete cube carries a brass plate at ground level.

Gunter Demnig began the Stolpersteine project in 1992, placing each stone at a victim’s last freely chosen residence or workplace. This decentralized memorial remembers Jewish people, Sinti and Roma, Poles, homosexuals, disabled people, Jehovah’s Witnesses, and others persecuted under Nazi rule. The small brass surface brings an individual life into the everyday streetscape, where remembrance meets the path beneath your feet.
