In Vent
In Vent stands in the courtyard of Sparkasse Hannover, where Robert Schad’s steel sculpture occupies the public space. Its bent, open structure suggests movement despite remaining completely still. The substantial steel creates a light, almost organic impression that changes how you read the surrounding courtyard. You are drawn towards its centre within the building.
The former Kreissparkasse Hannover commissioned the work to enrich the public courtyard at its headquarters. Schad brings dance and choreography into the way the installation guides movement. It forms a transitional space and a quiet centre inside the building, while its framework highlights the architecture’s transparency. No single outside viewpoint contains the whole structure. Instead, the steel fills the site and makes wind and movement tangible through static elements.
