Gut Steinhausen

Gut Steinhausen combines a family-run equestrian facility, restaurant, and beer garden in Dortmund. The grounds welcome horse enthusiasts, walkers, and guests seeking food or drinks. Rosi looks after the kitchen and beverages, while Wilm cares for the horses and stables.

Training takes place in a large indoor hall and an expansive outdoor arena. Regular courses develop both horses and riders under qualified trainers. Working equitation brings together traditional European riding styles and teaches calm, reliable responses during varied tasks. Spacious stables provide horses with shelter, food, and a peaceful home.

A fifteenth-century water castle once stood here, leaving the moat as a visible trace. Walking routes lead through the Wannebachtal and across the Ebberg, where wooded scenery meets Dortmund’s historic landscape.
