Oratorio di San Ludovico
Oratorio di San Ludovico, Venedik’in Dorsoduro semtinde bulunan küçük bir 16. yüzyıl kilisesidir. Gösterişli büyük kiliselerden farklı görünür, çünkü başlangıçta yaşlı ve ailesi olmayan erkeklere barınak sağlayan bir yardım kurumunun parçasıydı. Bu yapı, Venedik’te toplumsal dayanışmanın ibadet mekânlarıyla nasıl birleştiğini gösterir.
1996’dan beri Nuova Icona derneği burada sanat sergileri ve kültürel etkinlikler düzenler. Esnek iç mekân, geleneksel sergilerden video çalışmalarına ve performanslara kadar farklı üretimlere uyum sağlar. Venedik Bienali kapsamında da zaman zaman yerleştirmelere ve performanslara ev sahipliği yapar. 2017’de On Kawara’nın One Million Years (Reading) çalışmasında gönüllüler, geçmişe ve geleceğe uzanan bir milyon yıllık tarihleri seslendirdi. Nástio Mosquito ile Jinny Yu’nun video ve performans çalışmaları da bu mekânda çağdaş sanatın farklı yönlerini görünür kıldı.
San Ludovico, San Trovaso–Zattere–IUAV sanat yürüyüşünün duraklarından biridir. Bu rota, Dorsoduro’daki sanat mekânlarını ve mimarlık üniversitesini aynı şehir dokusunda buluşturur. Burada 16. yüzyılın sessiz ibadet atmosferi, bugün sanatçıların sesi, görüntüsü ve hareketiyle yeniden şekillenir.
