Kajeng Rice field

Kajeng Rice field leads through lush rice paddies near Ubud, offering a quiet walking route beyond the town. Dense foliage, bright flowers, and open fields shape the scenery.

The level path began as a route for farmers and now crosses the Kajeng Village landscape. Ancient temples and the market along Jalan Kajeng bring village life into the walk. Traditional items fill the market stalls, adding local character beside the route. The subak system uses canals and water temples to distribute irrigation water fairly among farmers. Its origins reach back to the ninth century, linking cultivation with Balinese cooperation.

Beyond the village, farmers work among broad paddies, where you can watch or try rice threshing. Small warungs offer refreshments, while local crafts appear along the route. The surrounding greenery keeps the transition from village streets to cultivated land visually clear.
