Leibfriedscher Garten
Leibfriedscher Garten is a Stuttgart park within the Green U, a U-shaped ensemble of connected green spaces. The garden opened for an international garden exhibition.
Its paths lead through romantic growth around the ruins of Villa Moser, built by chocolate manufacturer Eduard Otto Moser. The villa disappeared during the Second World War.
Kunststation Villa Moser, designed by Hans Dieter Schaal, lets visitors cross the former grounds above the soil. Some walkways have closed because deterioration affected their condition.
Bridges connect the garden with Wartberg and Rosensteinpark, extending the park landscape across Stuttgart. South of the garden, Expo Wohnen presents experimental housing from the same exhibition.
Art stations across the garden explore life themes through names such as Bei der Buche and Grottenloch. These stations reflect love, birth and dreams through their designs.
Bastion Leibfried rises ten metres above the former villa grotto and overlooks Stuttgart city centre. The grotto once stored water for the villa fountains.
Near Pragsattel, the garden places art, ruins, bridges and city views within one green setting.
