Hôtel de Crillon

The Hôtel de Crillon stands at Paris’s Place de la Concorde, in a stone building designed by Ange-Jacques Gabriel. King Louis XV commissioned the building for the square. The Hôtel de la Marine forms its matching counterpart, and both buildings began as offices for the French state. François Félix de Crillon later gave the hotel its family name. The building hosted the signing of early treaties between France and the newly founded United States. During the French Revolution, the confiscated property served Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette. The Société du Louvre acquired the building and converted it into a hotel after refurbishment. A major renovation preserved historical features while adding work by Aline Asmar d’Amman and Karl Lagerfeld. L’Écrin anchors the hotel’s fine dining offer. The property also includes a bar, outdoor terrace, gym, and health club for guests. Notable guests have included Theodore Roosevelt, Winston Churchill, and Taylor Swift over the hotel’s history. The Hôtel de Crillon carries Palace grade recognition in France.
