Musée de la photographie Charles Nègre
The Musée de la photographie Charles Nègre stands in the heart of Old Nice, among narrow streets and colourful buildings. This museum explores photography as both an art form and a medium.
A former power plant from the 1930s provides the setting, with preserved metal structures throughout the building. An old overhead crane still spans the space. Together, the museum and adjoining gallery present around seven exhibitions each year, ranging from major photographers to photographic movements and themes. Shows have featured Laurent Ballesta and Manon Lanjouère, alongside group displays and contemporary work. Guided tours, escape games and performances sometimes extend the exhibition experience.
The museum forms part of Nice’s network of eleven municipal museums and galleries. Wheelchair access supports visitors exploring its industrial rooms and changing displays. Since 2018, the venue has carried the Qualité Tourisme label. The overhead crane remains the detail that gives these photographs their distinctive industrial frame.

The myTuur app is free, and once you are standing at a spot its story starts by itself.
Spots like this one are the stops myTuur strings into tours through Nice. In the app, each story begins where you stand: walk up to a spot and it starts, read it on screen or listen as you go, then follow the route to the next one.
What is myTuur?
myTuur is a free city-guide app. Its tours are built from spots, and each spot carries a story that starts when you get there, to read or to listen to as you like.
