Angle Est de la tribune Sud de l'ancien Stade du Ray

Angle Est de la tribune Sud de l'ancien Stade du Ray preserves the eastern corner of the former south stand in Nice. The structure is one of only two surviving parts of Stade du Ray, once the home ground of OGC Nice.

Stade du Ray closed after decades of football and disappeared in 2017, leaving this corner and the old ticket office, known as the Rotonde. The preserved stand now resembles an open-air theatre, while stabilization work keeps it as a reminder of the stadium’s history. A landscaped park with a stream and small waterfall is being created around it, alongside housing, shops, a dojo and expanded school facilities.

Supporters once called the stadium le chaudron, or “the cauldron,” for the fierce atmosphere during matches. A petition helped save the Rotonde, keeping two fragments of the ground connected to Nice’s football community.
