Sitzungssaal Weiße Rose

Sitzungssaal Weiße Rose sits inside Munich’s Palace of Justice, marking the student resistance group that opposed the Nazi regime. The room connects the White Rose, including siblings Hans and Sophie Scholl, with the judicial persecution that followed their actions.

The exhibition “Arbitrariness in the Name of the German People” examines the People’s Court trials held in 1943. It follows the accused, defence and prosecution while showing how Nazi rule distorted justice and weakened democratic principles. The presentation also traces post-war efforts to rebuild democracy and confront crimes committed through the Nazi judicial system.

Several White Rose members were executed after show trials, leaving the courtroom as a concrete reminder of the cost of resisting dictatorship.
