Mariä Geburt

Mariä Geburt is a Roman Catholic church in Pasing, a district of Munich, Germany. Its architecture brings together late Gothic, Baroque, and neo-Gothic elements. Wheelchair access extends through the church’s visitor spaces.

First mentioned in 1315 as a branch of Aubing parish, the church has changed through destruction and rebuilding. The Bavarian War of Brothers destroyed the church in 1422. A tower collapse in 1588 preceded reconstruction completed by 1608, while a Baroque renovation followed in 1680. Pasing’s independent parish status brought further work: the nave widened during the nineteenth century and extended in 1882. The sacristy was added in 1864, and the tower spire regained a Gothic character in 1882.

Inside, a neo-Gothic high altar presents a seated Madonna between Saints Korbinian and Engelbert. Choir windows show the Annunciation and Christ on the Mount of Olives. Baroque figures of Saints Leonard, Nicholas, and Ulrich line the walls beside twelve apostle statues. A late Gothic crucifix completes the nave’s distinctive collection.
