Maria Rosenkranzkönigin

Maria Rosenkranzkönigin is a Roman Catholic church in the Pasing district of Munich. It dates from 1890, and Archbishop Antonius von Thoma consecrated it on 11 October 1891. The architecture follows the Neo-Rococo style, with ornate decoration and elegant curves throughout. If you use a wheelchair, you can get in and around the building.

The Congregatio Jesu, an order also known as the English Ladies, has been part of Pasing since 1862. The schools it founded played a decisive part in shaping the district. The Second World War damaged the church, and a restoration in 1945 repaired it. The order later moved its regular services to a house chapel, and the Maria Schutz parish looks after the building.

Inside, the curves and ornament concentrate around the altar. Paintings by Richard Holzner cover it, and the main altarpiece sits at its centre. It shows the awarding of the Rosary to Saint Dominic and Saint Rose of Lima.
