Bürgerzentrum Pasinger Rathaus (Altbau)
Bürgerzentrum Pasinger Rathaus (Altbau) stands in Munich’s Pasing district as a historic municipal building with wheelchair access. Originally, it served as Pasing’s town hall. Volbehr and Rettig designed the architecture, completed in November 1937 for the then-independent municipality. Inside, a council hall contains a tapestry by Bruno Goldschmitt, an artist associated with the Nazi era.
Six months after completion, Pasing joined Munich, changing the building’s civic role. Wartime attacks destroyed the western wing in 1944 and damaged the eastern section with an air mine in 1945. After the war, Munich mayor Thomas Wimmer led its restoration to the original form. Today, the premises accommodate a district inspectorate, citizen’s office, municipal office, social office and District Committee 21.
A distinctive detail links this historic building with communications technology: it became the world’s first communal facility equipped with ISDN in 1986.

The myTuur app is free, and once you are standing at a spot its story starts by itself.
Spots like this one are the stops myTuur strings into tours through Munich. In the app, each story begins where you stand: walk up to a spot and it starts, read it on screen or listen as you go, then follow the route to the next one.
What is myTuur?
