Bally-Prell-Brunnen
Bally-Prell-Brunnen stands at Leopoldstraße 77 in Munich, before the Jugendstil apartment building where Bally Prell lived all her life. Near Münchner Freiheit U-Bahn station, the stone basin and bronze figure catch the attention of passing pedestrians.
Wolfgang Sand designed the fountain, which was unveiled on 14 September 1992. Werner Braun created the bronze figure in Oberschleißheim, honouring the Bavarian folk singer and humorist Bally Prell. Two bronze plaques set into the basin identify her as “Volkssängerin, Humoristin” and “Miss Schneizlreuth”. Her famous song, “Die Schönheitskönigin von Schneizlreuth”, connects the sculpture with Munich’s folk music tradition.
The basin carries a clear sign stating that the water is not for drinking. That practical detail sits beside a personal memorial, private funding, and the address where Prell spent her life.

The myTuur app is free, and once you are standing at a spot its story starts by itself.
Spots like this one are the stops myTuur strings into tours through Munich. In the app, each story begins where you stand: walk up to a spot and it starts, read it on screen or listen as you go, then follow the route to the next one.
What is myTuur?
