Gladstone
Gladstone Arms is a family-run pub in Borough, London, a short walk from Borough tube station. The nineteenth-century building was rebuilt in the 1920s and still carries a strong local character. Charles Dickens lived on the same road, and the pub appears in The Pickwick Papers.
Meg and G run the welcoming venue, which brings British pub traditions together with Indian culinary influences. The kitchen serves dishes such as chicken tikka masala pie and Anglo-Indian Sunday roasts. Craft beers and real ales from local breweries complement the food. A beer garden, roof terrace and upstairs lounge give you several ways to settle in.
Live music spans folk, blues, pop and electronica, with comedy and open-mic nights adding to the programme. Performances take place on Tuesdays and Sundays, while artists receive contributions through a passing hat.
