Eventpalast
Eventpalast stands on Leipzig’s Alte Messe grounds, where raw concrete surfaces and clear forms define a protected historic monument. A broad dome crowns the central rotunda.
Wilhelm Kreis designed the hall for the International Building Exhibition, and construction finished during the winter of 1912–1913. Sixteen concrete columns support the eight-centimetre-thick dome. The 32-metre span rises 28 metres above two circular galleries and adjoining two-storey wings. In 1913, drawings and models here demonstrated reinforced concrete, while the galleries presented its manufacture and reinforcement. The hall later served Leipzig’s technical trade fair, then became an event venue after the fair moved away.
Concerts, cabaret, comedy, balls, dance events, exhibitions and banquets fit its flexible rooms and expandable stages. The dome hall offers roughly 780 square metres, with ground-level access, rigging points, lighting, sound systems and Wi-Fi. Concrete ornaments include stylised vases high inside the rotunda.

The myTuur app is free, and once you are standing at a spot its story starts by itself.
Spots like this one are the stops myTuur strings into tours through Leipzig. In the app, each story begins where you stand: walk up to a spot and it starts, read it on screen or listen as you go, then follow the route to the next one.
What is myTuur?
