Regenfiguren

Regenfiguren stands at the intersection of Georgstraße, Große Packhofstraße, and Andreaestraße in Hanover. Ulrike Enders created the public artwork as two bronze figures carrying umbrellas.

Installed in 1983, the sculpture shows a woman with a shopping bag beside a man holding a briefcase. Water trickles from the umbrella tips, turning both figures into subtle fountain dispensers. The woman’s bag carries names including Schmorl & von Seefeld, Magis, Gisy, and Appel Feinkost.

Look closely beneath the umbrellas: the water often falls so quietly that you may miss it.
