Schleidenbrücke
Schleidenbrücke crosses the Osterbekkanal in Hamburg, linking Barmbek-Süd with Saarlandstraße beside Barmbek-Nord and Winterhude. From its deck, you can look along the canal in both directions while traffic passes over a 24.2-metre road bridge.
Fritz Schumacher directed its construction in 1929, and the structure is now recognised as a cultural monument. Clinker brickwork, ceramic decoration and granite bases give it a classic Hamburg character, while a basket-arch vault keeps the bridge unusually low. Cantilever arms rest on two-hinged frames that also serve as plate holders.
The bridge carries number 92 and forms part of a busy route with six lanes on Schleidenstraße. Its name honours Hamburg naturalist Matthias Jacob Schleiden, and extensive restoration has preserved the historic structure.

The myTuur app is free, and once you are standing at a spot its story starts by itself.
Spots like this one are the stops myTuur strings into tours through Hamburg. In the app, each story begins where you stand: walk up to a spot and it starts, read it on screen or listen as you go, then follow the route to the next one.
What is myTuur?
myTuur is a free city-guide app. Its tours are built from spots, and each spot carries a story that starts when you get there, to read or to listen to as you like.
