Eppendorfer Park
Eppendorfer Park occupies hilly ground in Hamburg’s Eppendorf district, beside the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf.
Franz Andreas Meyer designed the grounds in 1890 as a recreation space for nearby hospital patients. English-style landscaping and raised terrain shape the park’s appearance. The area began as a tree nursery before becoming a representative park from 1889.
Redesigns during the 1920s still influence the grounds, which form an important garden monument. Eppendorf grew from pasture and moorland into a Hamburg suburb. Since 1974, Baui has developed from a construction playground into a children’s and family leisure centre. Its programme includes hut building, children’s theatre, campfires, table tennis, foosball, day trips and holiday travel.
Families find playgrounds, an adventure area, a playhouse and a small animal enclosure. Eppendorfer Moor preserves part of the original wet landscape as a nature reserve. In winter, the park’s hill becomes a toboggan run when enough snow covers the slope.

The myTuur app is free, and once you are standing at a spot its story starts by itself.
Spots like this one are the stops myTuur strings into tours through Hamburg. In the app, each story begins where you stand: walk up to a spot and it starts, read it on screen or listen as you go, then follow the route to the next one.
What is myTuur?
myTuur is a free city-guide app. Its tours are built from spots, and each spot carries a story that starts when you get there, to read or to listen to as you like.
