Selda Ebe
Selda Ebe is a memorial in Frankfurt dedicated to Abraham and Selda Ebe, Holocaust victims from Warsaw. Stolpersteine mark the pavement outside their former home on Eckenheimer Landstraße. The couple married in 1907 and raised five children, Regina, Mary, Rosa, Leo, and Esther. Their family moved through Offenbach, Hanover, and Munich before settling in Frankfurt in 1921.
Abraham ran a leather goods business on the ground floor of the house, while the children attended the nearby Philanthropin school. All five children showed artistic talent, but Nazi persecution brought a boycott of the business in 1936. Deportation after the Polenaktion in 1938 led the family to Poland and eventually the Warsaw Ghetto. Esther escaped to England in early 1939 and later moved to the United States.
