Secretariat Building
Secretariat Building stands in Chandigarh, India, as the largest administrative structure in the Capitol Complex. Le Corbusier completed it in 1953, shaping a long horizontal concrete form that stretches 254 metres and rises 42 metres.
Six eight-storey blocks divide the structure through expansion joints, while modular brise-soleils shade the façade. Their design supports natural lighting, cross-ventilation and a smaller visual scale, extending modernist principles into practical details. The building serves the chief secretaries of Punjab and Haryana, whose shared capital emerged after the 1966 reorganisation of East Punjab.
The Capitol Complex brings together three buildings and three monuments, including the High Court and Legislative Assembly. UNESCO recognised the complex in 2016 within the Architectural Work of Le Corbusier World Heritage site. A rooftop garden and promenade offer views across Chandigarh, giving the massive concrete structure a place above the city as well as within it.

The myTuur app is free, and once you are standing at a spot its story starts by itself.
Spots like this one are the stops myTuur strings into tours through Chandigarh. In the app, each story begins where you stand: walk up to a spot and it starts, read it on screen or listen as you go, then follow the route to the next one.
What is myTuur?
