Ort der Information

Ort der Information is an underground exhibition at Berlin’s Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, beneath the southeast corner of the field of stelae. Wheelchair access supports your visit below ground. Four thematic rooms document the persecution and extermination of Jewish people across Europe during the Holocaust. The setting adds historical context to the abstract memorial above.

Family stories connect the history to Jewish lives destroyed during the Holocaust, while authentic remembrance sites widen the view across Europe. In the Room of Names, short biographies of murdered or missing Jewish people are read aloud. Their names, birth years and death years appear as projections across the walls. These voices and illuminated details leave individual lives at the centre of remembrance.

Spots like this one are the stops myTuur strings into tours through Berlin. In the app, each story begins where you stand: walk up to a spot and it starts, read it on screen or listen as you go, then follow the route to the next one.

What is myTuur?

myTuur is a free city-guide app. Its tours are built from spots, and each spot carries a story that starts when you get there, to read or to listen to as you like.
