Sint-Catharinakerk
Sint-Catharinakerk stands in Antwerp’s Kiel district, beside the former cemetery that is now Kielpark. Built of brick, the southeast-facing parish church presents a solid Neoromanesque exterior with rounded arches.
The cross-basilica plan includes a tower within the northern aisle, a three-aisled transept, and a flat-ended choir. Pieter Dens designed the original stone church between 1870 and 1872. Kiel’s growing population brought an enlargement between 1912 and 1914, designed by Jules Bilmeyer. A rose window above the main entrance brings coloured light inside.
The church serves Kiel as a meeting place, with services held in Dutch and Spanish. International worshippers include Belgians, Ecuadorians, Portuguese, and Venezuelans. ’t Vestje, a volunteer-run secondhand shop, helps pay for electricity, services, and maintenance.

The myTuur app is free, and once you are standing at a spot its story starts by itself.
Spots like this one are the stops myTuur strings into tours through Antwerp. In the app, each story begins where you stand: walk up to a spot and it starts, read it on screen or listen as you go, then follow the route to the next one.
What is myTuur?
myTuur is a free city-guide app. Its tours are built from spots, and each spot carries a story that starts when you get there, to read or to listen to as you like.
