PLUS-ONE | Sofie Van De Velde
PLUS-ONE | Sofie Van De Velde is an Antwerp gallery where modern and contemporary art meet. Founded in 2013, it presents artists through exhibitions shaped by collaboration and international exchange. Sofie Van De Velde directs the gallery and links historical practices with current artistic perspectives.
Its programme includes solo and group exhibitions, alongside appearances at Art Brussels, Art Cologne and Art Basel. The gallery also collaborates with PLUS-ONE Gallery on projects that bring artists and ideas together. This approach encourages dialogue between artists, collectors and visitors within Antwerp’s active art scene.
A memorable example is L’heure bleue, an exhibition devoted to blue, introspection and the infinite. Ultramarine, made from lapis lazuli, once ranked as the most expensive pigment and signalled holiness in religious art. Works by Kees Goudzwaard use trompe-l’œil to suggest paper, tape and acetate across coloured surfaces. Reduced forms and restrained gestures make presence and absence feel like visible subjects.

The myTuur app is free, and once you are standing at a spot its story starts by itself.
Spots like this one are the stops myTuur strings into tours through Antwerp. In the app, each story begins where you stand: walk up to a spot and it starts, read it on screen or listen as you go, then follow the route to the next one.
What is myTuur?
myTuur is a free city-guide app. Its tours are built from spots, and each spot carries a story that starts when you get there, to read or to listen to as you like.
