Middelheimpark
Middelheimpark is an open-air museum and sculpture park in Antwerp, spread across more than thirty hectares of green space. Green lawns and paths connect sculptures, gardens, pavilions, and Middelheim Castle. The surrounding Nachtegalen Park extends this meeting of art and nature beyond the museum grounds. You move between classic and contemporary works.
The collection includes sculptures by Carl Andre, Franz West, Auguste Rodin, Ai Weiwei, and other artists. New commissions respond to trees, paths, and the landscape around them. The Braem Pavilion, designed by Renaat Braem, shelters fragile works by Alberto Giacometti, Jean Arp, and Wim Delvoye. Open patios bring daylight into the building. A pathway leads from the pavilion past the castle towards Hortiflora, a botanical flower garden within the museum. The House, designed by Paul Robbrecht, presents temporary exhibitions inside a transparent structure focused on human scale. Carl Andre’s Seventy-four Weathering Way places steel plates directly under visitors’ feet, allowing weather and walking to mark the work. Ai Weiwei’s The Bridge Without a Name replaces a bridge deck with planks shaped like China.

The myTuur app is free, and once you are standing at a spot its story starts by itself.
Spots like this one are the stops myTuur strings into tours through Antwerp. In the app, each story begins where you stand: walk up to a spot and it starts, read it on screen or listen as you go, then follow the route to the next one.
What is myTuur?
