The Amauris

The Amauris occupies a historic building on Vienna’s Ringstrasse, between the Vienna State Opera and the Musikverein. The Albertina, Café Museum, and Kärntner Strasse are nearby. Its interiors combine nineteenth-century forms with contemporary details and Italian marble in several named varieties. Carrara Bianco and Calacatta Viola appear among the marble selections. The lobby displays a reproduction of Michelangelo’s Venus and a mural by Croatian artist Klara Rusan. The mural winds upward along the hotel’s stairwell.
