Galluskirche
Galluskirche stands in Derendingen, Germany, as a late Gothic hall church with a western tower. Its pointed windows and preserved outer walls reveal parts of the earlier church.
A major fire destroyed the predecessor, so builders rebuilt the church between 1561 and 1563. The wide, bright nave draws your attention toward a painted coffered ceiling from 1561. Each ceiling panel carries its own coloured design above the interior. Four bells occupy the upper storey of the west tower, while painted clock faces appear in its gables.
The organ began in 1832 and received expansion and restoration in 1981, reaching twenty-one registers. A memorial plaque recalls reformer Primus Truber and his work in the community. The preserved Gothic walls, painted ceiling, four bells, and historic organ connect worship today with centuries of rebuilding.
