Xayrobod Eshon
Xayrobod Eshon stands in Chilonzor, southwestern Tashkent, as an architectural complex combining a mosque, mausoleum, and courtyard. Its courtyard once held a pond, now gone.
Built during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, the complex reflects religious and communal architecture shaped with support from Xayrobod Eshon. Master Qoraxo‘ja directed its construction. The rectangular mosque contains a 12.5-by-16.5-metre hall, with columned verandas on the front and north sides. Islimi patterns cover those verandas.
Inside, built-in shelves, niches, and navoli accompany the prayer space. The complex underwent renovation in the twentieth century. The trapezoidal mausoleum measures about 7.5 by 7.7 metres and uses plain baked bricks mixed with ganch. Its exterior carries little decoration, leaving the brickwork as its clearest detail.
