Ташкентская телебашня
Tashkent Television Tower rises 375 metres above Tashkent, Uzbekistan, as a steel vertical cantilever and the country’s tallest building. Its high frame carries radio and television signals across Uzbekistan and into parts of southern Kazakhstan.
Construction began in 1978 after a decision to expand broadcasting, and the tower began operating in January 1985. Alongside transmission, it supports government communications and hydrometeorological monitoring, while its observation deck offers a panoramic view from 97 metres. The Koinot restaurant sits at 110 metres, with two halls and space for up to 120 people.
Inside the lobby, three Florentine and Roman-style mosaics by Bukharbayev include one portraying the dancer Tamarahonim. The museum displays tower models from countries including Russia, England, Canada and Germany, plus a miniature Eiffel Tower.
