St. Konrad
St. Konrad is a Roman Catholic church on Stafflenbergstrasse, east of Stuttgart’s city centre in the Stuttgart-Mitte district. Designed by Karl Gonser, it rises above the surrounding streets with a cross-topped tower visible across the city.
Construction began with the foundation stone in 1965, and consecration followed in 1967 before parish status came in 1969. Hilde Reiser created the stained-glass windows that same year, while Josef Henger made the altar, ambo and tabernacle. Renovation between 2010 and 2011 reshaped parts of the church and reconstructed its organ with some original materials.
The organ now carries 27 registers across two manuals and a pedal, giving the interior a distinctive musical focus. At the entrance steps, a statue of Saint Conrad by Wendelin Matt welcomes visitors to the church.
