Höhenpark Killesberg
Höhenpark Killesberg occupies half a square kilometre in Stuttgart-Nord, where flower beds, water features and seasonal gardens shape an urban landscape. Broad paths connect the Primeltal and Seenterrassen.
A former quarry became a park for a horticultural show in 1939, and later hosted the Bundesgartenschau and Internationale Gartenbauausstellung. Its horticultural history remains visible. The Killesberg railway has crossed the grounds since the park opened, carrying visitors behind diesel and steam locomotives since 1950. The narrow-gauge line adds a moving thread to the gardens.
The Killesberg Tower rises 40 metres above the park, offering panoramic views from its cable-stayed structure completed in 2001. Jörg Schlaich designed the tower. Families find a petting zoo, a large playground and a children’s theatre among the planted areas. The Lichterfest fills the grounds with lanterns before music and fireworks close the celebration. Nearby, the Bismarck Tower from 1904 provides another elevated view across Stuttgart.

The myTuur app is free, and once you are standing at a spot its story starts by itself.
Spots like this one are the stops myTuur strings into tours through Stuttgart. In the app, each story begins where you stand: walk up to a spot and it starts, read it on screen or listen as you go, then follow the route to the next one.
