Hermann-Lenz-Höhe
The Hermann-Lenz-Höhe is a small green space in Stuttgart Nord, a few hundred metres from Killesberg Park and the Weissenhof Estate. Trees fill the setting, leaving the viewpoint mainly open towards the Kappelberg near Fellbach.
Named in 2001 for writer Hermann Lenz, the place connects a quiet walk with Stuttgart’s literary history. His long residence in Stuttgart gives the setting a clear local connection. At its centre, the Kaffeewasserbrunnen combines a reconstructed fountain with a Klangstein and Black Forest granite seats. Built around 1950, the fountain was reconstructed in 2015. Black Forest granite seating bears a design by Shinroku Shimokawa, a student at Stuttgart’s State Academy of Fine Arts.
A nearby plaque releases drinking water and lets you hear droplets after pressing a button. At the viewpoint, another plaque carries Hermann Lenz’s words: “Vor deiner Haut beginnt die Fremde.”

The myTuur app is free, and once you are standing at a spot its story starts by itself.
Spots like this one are the stops myTuur strings into tours through Stuttgart. In the app, each story begins where you stand: walk up to a spot and it starts, read it on screen or listen as you go, then follow the route to the next one.
What is myTuur?
