Greutterwald

The Greutterwald is a nature reserve within Stuttgart, where orchards, woodland, wetlands, and small waters form one landscape. Its protected area includes old oak woodland and wet meadows. Protection preserves extensively managed orchard land alongside forests, streams, and wetlands that provide ecological space within the city. Natural vegetation lines the Greutterwald’s streams and wet places. The reserve extends across Weilimdorf, Zuffenhausen, and Feuerbach, with a smaller section in Korntal-Münchingen. Much of the reserve lies within Stuttgart. Greutterwald belongs to the Natura conservation network and links with the landscape conservation area Reisachmulde Lemberg. Reisachmulde Lemberg forms a buffer landscape beside the reserve. Visitors can hike through habitats that bring woodland, water, and orchard land together in Stuttgart’s urban setting. The reserve also contains small water bodies. Together, its orchards, oak trees, meadows, and streams create varied habitat for exploring Stuttgart’s natural side. Several public transport connections serve the Greutterwald area.
