Albrecht-Goes-Platz

Albrecht-Goes-Platz stands in Stuttgart-Ost, near the Bubenbad tram stop, among the city’s hills and valleys. Its benches face Gerokstraße from the seating area. Concrete paths run through planting that changes from spring daffodils to summer perennials. The arrangement opens views towards Stuttgart’s city centre and skyline. Walkers can cross the square before pausing among the benches and planted paths.

Named for Albrecht Goes, the place links a German writer and Protestant theologian with Stuttgart’s urban landscape. Overgrown shrubs had blocked the outlook before the redesign. The work removed them, created seating, and improved views across the city’s hills and valleys. It cost around one hundred thousand euros. The project formed part of a city development initiative funded through the city development allowance. A light stele carries its name. At night, Schlossplatz offers a view of its illuminated lettering.
