Jardí Botànic de Sóller

Jardí Botànic de Sóller is a botanical garden in Sóller, Mallorca, closely linked with the Museu Balear de Ciències Naturals. You see landscapes, horticultural displays, and native plants from Mallorca and the Balearic Islands. Collections and exhibitions connect plant life with regional science, culture, and natural history. Hands-on activities let visitors see, touch, and explore the diversity of Balearic flora.

Research here examines climate change and environmental questions specific to the region. Educational programmes include children’s summer workshops combining science, nature, and creativity. Sustainability projects replace some parking areas with green space and promote electric garden equipment. The garden also reduces fossil-fuel-derived pesticides and fertilisers, supports reforestation, and seeks to cut potable irrigation water by at least a quarter. Native species stand in for traditional lawns, making conservation visible throughout the grounds.
