Facultad de Derecho is the Law Faculty of the University of Seville, rooted in the city’s long academic history.
The faculty occupies part of Campus Pirotecnia.
Its historic building has a square layout and a large outdoor courtyard, alongside spaces for departments, teaching and events.
The campus also includes Casa del Coronel and the Nave del Almacén.
The faculty’s origins connect with the University of Seville’s foundation, authorised through royal and papal acts between 1502 and 1508.
Law teaching began here in 1518.
Early studies separated Canon Law from Civil Law, while later reforms shaped the faculty’s place within Spanish higher education.
The 1965 curriculum marked an important stage in that development.
Today, its academic fields include Roman Law, Constitutional Law, Civil Law, Criminal Law, International Law and Legal Philosophy.

The faculty shares Campus Pirotecnia with the Faculty of Labour Sciences.
