Casa de las Columnas
Casa de las Columnas stands in Seville’s Triana neighbourhood, near Santa Ana, Altozano, and the Castillo de San Jorge. The building now houses municipal offices, a public library, and rooms for community activities. These spaces host meetings, exhibitions, workshops, conferences, and cultural events for local participation.
Priest Fernando Narbona built the house around 1780 on the approximate site of a vanished chapel. A wooden cross in the garden marked where the chapel’s tabernacle once stood. After church properties were confiscated and sold, Rafael González Abreu acquired it with other houses on Betis Street. During the twentieth century, several families shared the building as communal housing. By 1973, severe deterioration had forced the residents to leave.
Seville City Council bought the remaining structure in 1984 for twelve million pesetas. Restoration work began in March 1987 and finished in summer 1989. A private residence, communal home, and civic centre now trace three distinct chapters of Triana’s urban history.

The myTuur app is free, and once you are standing at a spot its story starts by itself.
Spots like this one are the stops myTuur strings into tours through Seville. In the app, each story begins where you stand: walk up to a spot and it starts, read it on screen or listen as you go, then follow the route to the next one.
What is myTuur?
myTuur is a free city-guide app. Its tours are built from spots, and each spot carries a story that starts when you get there, to read or to listen to as you like.
