Alte Post
Alte Post stands in Saarbrücken as a protected historic building from the 1920s, originally designed as a post office. Its visible brickwork, ground-floor arched windows and traditional facade give the former civic building a distinctive architectural presence.
Renovation adapted the interiors for contemporary office use while retaining these historic features. Internal insulation improved the uninsulated facades, and triple-glazed aluminium windows replaced the original wooden frames. Modern post-and-beam construction supports the new roof and annex, while reconstructed arched windows echo the original design.
The restored facade keeps its brickwork visible, preserving a clear link to Saarbrücken’s postal and architectural past.
