Jaunā Bieriņu muiža
Jaunā Bieriņu muiža stands on Kantora Street in Riga, beside the Mārupīte stream and the Bieriņgrāvis. The present apartment building echoes a manor house built there around 1870 by the Bērenss von Rautenfeld family. Its setting connects the suburban neighbourhood with streams, parks and the former rural landscape of Bieriņi.
The estate remained with several generations of the family before land reforms in the 1920s changed its ownership. In 1928, reconstruction turned the manor into a rental house containing fourteen apartments. The old buildings were demolished in autumn 2018 after years of decline. A new residence rose on the site in 2022, preserving the earlier manor’s appearance while serving modern homes. Nearby Kantora Street 97 marks the former Old Bieriņi Manor, built around 1800 and later absorbed into a school building.

The myTuur app is free, and once you are standing at a spot its story starts by itself.
Spots like this one are the stops myTuur strings into tours through Riga. In the app, each story begins where you stand: walk up to a spot and it starts, read it on screen or listen as you go, then follow the route to the next one.
What is myTuur?
