Parku Heroinat
Parku Heroinat opens in central Prishtina, between everyday traffic and city noise, with trees, benches, and green grass. About 2,500 square metres create a quiet space amid the surrounding movement.
At its centre, artist Ilir Blakçori’s monument remembers Kosova’s women, including those whose wartime experiences remained unacknowledged. Twenty thousand individual pins form a woman’s face. Each pin represents a woman who, according to estimates, suffered sexual violence during the war. Together, the pins create a silent memorial.
Fifty-one new trees provide shade, while fifteen benches offer places to sit and reflect beside the monument. Grass, foliage, and metal pins place ordinary park details beside a difficult collective memory. That contrast gives central Prishtina a visible space for women who often remained nameless.

The myTuur app is free, and once you are standing at a spot its story starts by itself.
Spots like this one are the stops myTuur strings into tours through Pristina. In the app, each story begins where you stand: walk up to a spot and it starts, read it on screen or listen as you go, then follow the route to the next one.
What is myTuur?
