Bornstedter Friedhof
Bornstedter Friedhof lies in Potsdam, directly opposite Krongut Bornstedt and near the Potsdam Orangery. This historic cemetery has served as a burial ground since 1599, surrounded by the cultural landscape of Sanssouci Palace and gardens. Its five sections include the protected first section and the Sello family cemetery.
The grounds expanded across centuries, becoming a resting place for bourgeois families and nobility from the 18th century. Ludwig Hermann Sello acquired the family cemetery in 1844 for relatives and friends, while the chapel built around 1900 by Reinhold Persius was restored in 2010 with UNESCO funding. A small grove designed by Hans Kölle in 1935 commemorates soldiers who died in the First World War.
Among those buried here are landscape gardener Peter Joseph Lenné and architects Friedrich Ludwig Persius and Reinhold Persius. The chapel and the Sello cemetery give the grounds two distinct architectural and family landmarks.

The myTuur app is free, and once you are standing at a spot its story starts by itself.
Spots like this one are the stops myTuur strings into tours through Potsdam. In the app, each story begins where you stand: walk up to a spot and it starts, read it on screen or listen as you go, then follow the route to the next one.
What is myTuur?
