Musée de la Libération de Paris
The Musée de la Libération de Paris stands at Place Denfert-Rochereau, tracing Paris’s liberation during the Second World War. Underground spaces and wartime objects bring the city’s past into view.
Jean Moulin and General Philippe Leclerc de Hauteclocque anchor the story of the French Resistance. More than 7,000 military and everyday objects follow the period from the interwar years to Paris’s liberation. Moulin helped unite the Resistance under Charles de Gaulle before the Gestapo captured and killed him. Leclerc rejected France’s defeat in 1940 and continued fighting for its liberation. The museum opened on 25 August 2019, marking the seventy-fifth anniversary of Paris’s liberation, after moving from Montparnasse.
A preserved command post beneath the square belonged to Colonel Rol-Tanguy, head of the French Forces of the Interior. Mixed reality places you inside that underground bunker during the events of 1944.

The myTuur app is free, and once you are standing at a spot its story starts by itself.
Spots like this one are the stops myTuur strings into tours through Paris. In the app, each story begins where you stand: walk up to a spot and it starts, read it on screen or listen as you go, then follow the route to the next one.
What is myTuur?
myTuur is a free city-guide app. Its tours are built from spots, and each spot carries a story that starts when you get there, to read or to listen to as you like.
